A sail cruise route of approximately 200 miles..
PROCIDA
Procida is the smallest of the Partenopean islands and is the closest to Napoli, but fortunately the least frequented by luxusurians and unrestrained tourists.
With its almost intact natural beauties, the island of Procida proves to be the ideal place for a beach holiday. Wide beaches and numerous bays and coves of the island of Procida, the coves scattered along the coast of Procida offer shelter from any type of wind from a nautical point of view. Among the topten finalist candidate cities, Procida was elected ITALIAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2022.
PROCIDA HARBOURS
Procida island has 3 small ports: MARINA GRANDE, MARINA CORRICELLA and MARINA CHIAIOLELLA.
MARINA GRANDE is the main docking of the Procida island. And it is the sea port for ferries and hydrofoils which connect Procida to Pozzuoli, Napoli and Ischia.
Nearby is Marina di Procida, the new touristic harbour endowed with mooring, electricity, water and showers. Here the ProgettOceano has its nautical base. Really, exactly the Marina di Procida is the bareboats departure point or embarkation on her sailboats and sail yacht to rent for a week end cruises or weekly sailing holidays or more weeks charter
MARINA CORRICELLA, a wonderfull island whithin the island, the typical fishing village, forbidden to cars and scooters traffic. It's in the southern part of Procida island. And it is reserved to boats for fishing, but practicable entering the 1st entrance - Punta dei Monaci side- you can reach the shore by tenders. Paying attencion to the shallow water.
MARINA CHIAIOLELLA, is a small harbour both for tourism and fishing. You can find: fuel station, private ponts, mooring, electricity, water and showers.
It's located in the south of Procida island and the entrance to the harbour is not easy with strong SE wind.
PROCIDA ANCHORAGES
The roadstead of Chiaia is a huge bay in the south, close to the harbour of Corricella and offers the best anchorage of the Procida isle, particularly at night.
It's sheltered from the winds of the 3rd and 4th quadrant and offers a beautifull view with sandy shallow water rich in poseidonia.
Unlike the other Procida inlets, the Carbogno doesn't offer a safe enchorage because of its rocky and deep waters. At present, it is used as ichthyc rearing with big cages signalled by light (boe).
In any case, it's useful to look it up in the Map of Regno di Nettuno if you want sail and anchor respecting the limits of the natural park which embrace Procida, Vivara and Ischia.
Warnings: PUNTA SERRA a rocky tongue extending for 200 mt. from the mountains, coverd with shools. REEFS at Punta Cottimo and Punta Lingua.
VENTOTENE
Ventotene, just 25 miles from our base - Procida - and less than 18 miles from Punta Imperatore - Ischia W side – there is the first island of Pontine islands, the closest to Napoli: Ventotene island. Particularly collected and highly characteristic, entirely pedestrian, the island of Ventotene is an island where the time seems to have stopped. Immersed in absolute simplicity, Ventotene offers crystal clear waters, relaxation and tranquility. Excellent backdrops for scuba diving, an ideal isle fo a sailing holiday. Just half a mile from Ventotene, the islet of Santo Stefano, completely uninhabited, welcomes you with a significant historical - cultural itinerary, allowing you to visit the remains of the imposing Bourbon penitentiary.
Ports of the island of Ventotene
There are two ports in Ventotene: Porto Romano and Cala Rossano.
PORTO ROMANO, dug out of the tuff, can only be accessed by yacht and sailboats with a limited draft - 1.80 - and in any case not exceeding 12 meters. It offers mooring with mooring service, electricity and water. Completely sheltered from any wind.
CALA ROSSANO, also called the NEW PORT of Ventotene, open to the NW, is configured with a breakwaves of about 220 meters, where free mooring is allowed only during certain periods of the year. Normally this quay is managed by municipal operators of the Ventotene island. The backwash here is however remarkable. With NW and W winds, mooring on the quay is not recommended. Instead, mooring is always possible for any boats , yacht and sailboat at the floating pont inside the port of Ventotene, even more sheltered towards the internal beach. Refueling is ensured by the AGIP distributor inside Cala Rossano in Ventotene, where it is possible to moor during closing hours (and not, with the consent of the gas station).
Anchorages of the island of Ventotene
Yacht, boat and sailboats, charter boat can anchor in Ventotene but it is advisable to consult the map carefully in compliance with the limits of the natural park which partly embraces both the island of Ventotene and the islet of Santo Stefano. Pay attention to the anchorage in front of the Ventotene beach – the only one beach of it -, both for the distance to be kept from it - generally indicated by buoys to protect the bathing - and for the presence of rocky bottoms. all sailboats must pay the same attention to the anchorages under Villa Giulia, where there are low rocky bottoms. When sailing around Ventotene, do not go near the coast, especially from Punta dell'Arco to the Scoglio La Nave.
DANGERS: pay attention to the Secca delle Sconciglie, which are located 700 meters from the port exit of Porto Nuovo di Ventotene proceeding on route W - for Ponza. We also point out the impossibility of the passage between the outcropping and the coast, not only for sailboats but for all yachts, undermined by very low rocky and semi-surfacing backdrops. Keep off. LOW IRREGULAR BOTTOMS rocky below the coast, especially the side exposed to the SE.
PONZA
Ponza is among the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean sea and we are sure Ponza has a magic charm. So you can try to spend here more days of your sailing holiday. infact Ponza has several bays and many caves to visit and many inlets where your anchorage is easy and safe. Among peculiarities of Ponza's island: its wonderful light colours, crystalline water and soft white sand. It's the least challenging island from the nautic point of view and Ponza is a perfect from a sailing yacht charter and sailing holidays. you can sail close to the coast, downwind in one of the several bays on both sides.
Harbour and anchorages of Ponza
The harbour of Ponza is a natural inlet open in the East side limited in the north by a breakwater cliff. The internal side of the harbour of Ponza is for her fishing boats. During the high season the Ponza Harbour offers mooring, electricity and water at the floating docks for all sailboats , yacht and charter boats.
We suggest anchoring you sailboat in the roadstead entering from the right side since the sandy bottom. You can reach the land by you sailboat tender. PALMAROLA e ZANNONE
PALMAROLA
The island of Palmarola is a very beautiful, particular and suggestive isle. For many people, Palmarola with Ponza is the unconditional beauty of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Pontine Islands certainly have their own magic charm. Palmarola is completely uninhabited. Only in summer and only in CALA DEL PORTO (a bay, also called cala del Francese) in addition to a bar and a restaurant, and some houses carved into the rock, there is nothing ... just nature. Do not miss the panoramic view from the top of S. Silverio. CALA BRIGANTINO is surely the most beautiful bay in Palmarola, in the south of the island, where all boats, sailboats and yachts find shelter from the breeze winds that blow from the NW in the afternoon. Skippers must pay attention to dry rocks and shallows. Palmarola is also beautiful for the sequence of caves and passages that make the water colors particularly intense.
Palmarola dangers
Warnings: Palmarola SE side - shoal of the Zirri covered with breakers. It's dangerous since it's along the course which from Ponza leads to Cala Brigantino and it's also dangerous for all skippers and yacht and sailboats those which set sail from Palmarola to Ponza.Entering the centre of the bay, pay attention to the rocky seabed on the right and on the left.

It may be sailed along the coast with sailboat, charter boat and yacht but it's forbidden get off the ground unless you have permission of the management of the Park the Forestale in San felice Circeo or at the City Hall in Ponza. There is no chance to moor.
ISCHIA
One mile from Procida and from our base, Ischia, the Green island is famous for its thermal baths and it's a rather big island, quiet and relaxing, a good place for summer holidays lovers. Ischia island has many happy aspects to wrap your sailing holidays.
Ports and Anchorages of ISCHIA:
Ports: ISCHIA PORTO - ISCHIA CASAMICCIOLA – ISCHIA FORIO – ISCHIA S. ANGELO
ISCHIA PORTO
is a natural bay with wharfs and completely sheltered from any wind but at the same time busy from sailboats, yacht, super yacht and ferries for sail around Ischia e Procida. Here the backwash caused by the traffic of ferries which connect Ischia Porto to Pozzuoli and Napoli and with Procida is the only fault.
The sailboat and yacht transit is hard because of the floating structures of the Marina di Ischia, located to the left since crowded. Petrol pump which is on the right, grants the fuel.
You can see landing wharfs that are less crowded.Free mooring is forbidden.
ISCHIA CASAMICCIOLA
is a commercial harbour that connects Ischia with Pozzuoli, Napoli and Procida. And a touristic harbour too reserved to the sail yacht, sailboats, boats and super yacht. for charter sailboats: pay attention to the sandy shallow waters just in the centre of the Ischia Casamicciola harbour, and to the ferrie and hydrofoils traffic that connects with Napoli, Pozzuoli and Procida. Mooring is granted at the dock if you contact the Marina of Cala degli Aragonesi from the municipal landing wharfs and the Marina located on the right, just entering the port. Be careful to the winds coming from the 1st quadrant.

The bay outside Marina Grande is not recommended due to the enormous commercial traffic with Capri island.
Among our favorite bays in Capri, Marina Piccola is certainly included. Completely open to the SOUTH, more than a marina it is a bay where is possible a landing just for a boat'stender stopover. It is good to know that the seabed, mixed between sand and poseidona, rises gently from 70 meters up to 10 meters. To all yacht and sailboats, sail yacht and charter boat, we recommend to anchor in the innermost part entering the bay on the left side. Anchorages in all other bays are not recommended, due to the high and rocky bottoms.
AMALFI
Half way between Naples and Salerno, Amalfi is an ancient seaside village which still keeps its beauty of Republic Marinara. Who sail with his yacht or sailboat can see Amalfi, because it's situated on a hill goes down to the sea. One of the main monument of Amalfi is the Dome of S. Andrea. Amalfi town is so elegant and it is a small centre to walk. As you leave the main street you can find out alleys, and stairs leading to terraces from where you enjoy a breathtaking view.
